This little 🏡 is called a “Mini Moca”. It is a free tiny art gallery for their community.

This is in Tucson where my friend Shelly has a house. She sent me a photo today of this. She put my “tulips in a vase” card in there! ( I was so excited to have my tiny art in the moca! 🩷🌷)

The purpose is to “Take Art & Leave Art” It says you are invited to make, or leave tiny works of art, stickers, zines, etc. Artwork can be flat like a painting or drawing or 3-dimensional like a sculpture.

I’m currently in a small group called “Inner Circle” led by a long-admired teacher, agent, & artist, Lilla Rogers.
It’s a class to delve into whatever you want to work on.

When I first saw that she offered this last spring, I thought I was too old, but I have changed my mindset. I’m approaching a big birthday, and told myself the words I live by, “why not”. So I am taking it with 11 amazing artists & dear Lilla the headmaster. It is only 6 weeks, and we are already on week 2.

My assignment yesterday was to gather some info from my book, “Getting Your Magic Back” & also do a couple of mugs and plates from my collage work— with, by the way, on week one, Lilla was so excited about my collage art. I can’t tell you how over the moon I was. I have been wanting people to recognize this forever! 🩷🩵

Yesterday, in our review, she told me I needed to write more in my book and embellish it with my art. I had only wanted to update it and keep it as is. I had had such a great response before, with only one book left. It struck a deep chord within me.

This was a book I wrote about dealing with my life while going through my divorce. It poked a place hidden in my heart— that I’m still dealing with. How could I write more.

This morning I woke up exhausted. My happy self wants to push this down, but I know I need to write more and see where it takes me…

🍽️ They are pretty funky and mismatched, but that’s what I love to do & I feel it gives it more of a story.

However, when Carla wore her aqua, rhinestone eyeglasses, which belonged to her grandmother, Zelda Gribble, who just happened to be a go-go dancer on a tv show in the 60’s, well, Carla just viewed the world and herself differently, & ordinary, she was not.

🐾🩵🐾There is a dog shop in Crested Butte, “Mountain Tails Pet Boutique “. They have a huge pine tree at the side of their shop, and in honor of the Vinotok festival, which is now going on, it is adorned with laminated photos of people’s furry pals that have gone to that dog & other furry friends 🌈rainbow in the sky.

🐾This is in honor of their loyalty. Slide right to see my loyal pups & what the festival wrote about loyalty.

🐾I didn’t have an actual photo, so I drew a quick sketch of my two rescued furry guys on hotel scratch paper & posted them on their tree to celebrate their lives.

🐾So this is a quick drawing of Larry & Harper. Larry lived to the ripe old age of 17, and Harper 11. Larry had ocean blue eyes & a brindle coat. He was a feisty guy & you never knew who he would befriend, but he and my daughter were tight & shared a special love. On a bizarre note, when I took Larry to the vet at the end, I was holding him and I literally felt his spirit leave his little Larry suit .

🐾Harper was a gentle soul, and had been harnessed to a tree and had permanent scars on his chest. I rescued him from a dog rescue day at a local pet store. He had spindly legs and an underbite that added to his personality. When he was 7, a vet diagnosed him with melanoma and told me he had 2 months to live, well, Harper proved them wrong and lived 4 more years.

🐾These two, brought so much joy to my life & old man Harper was beside me through a tough time with his loyalty.

🐾I’m so lucky to have had these furry boy’s love, and am honored that they were a part of my life.

Bauer was rescued from a Texas puppy mill by “Little White Dog Rescue” in Nebraska. The runt of the litter, this sweet mini poodle
was adopted by Grace & Chloe, and today, at three years old, he is truly living his best life.

Valentine’s Day also happens to be his birthday, which couldn’t be more fitting for such a loving pup. Bauer, like most of us, adores treats from Trader Joe’s, and anything that squeaks or rolls, is a good toy in his book. However, when it’s time to sleep, his trusty Lamb Chop, is his snuggle toy.

Thank you, Grace, for rescuing him & for asking me to paint this little valentine. He just oozes love!

Andrea Tyler Evans 🩷🤍❤️ Andrea passed on Sunday. I had no idea she had been dealing with cancer for 13 years. I met her at one of my shows and was immediately attracted to her beautiful smile and sincere love of my art. She was always so positive and full of joy.

I painted a portrait of her two rescue kitties, Shelly & Sally. She had just reached out last month wanting another of their newest addition, Sammy, who they adopted & was adding a bit of caos to their family, but still the same, was loved very much.

Andrea Tyler Evans 🩷🤍❤️ Andrea passed on Sunday. I had no idea she had been dealing with cancer for 13 years. I met her at one of my shows and was immediately attracted to her beautiful smile and sincere love of my art. She was always so positive and full of joy.

I painted a portrait of her two rescue kitties, Shelly & Sally. She had just reached out last month wanting another of their newest addition, Sammy, who they adopted & was adding a bit of caos to their family, but still the same, was loved very much.

Here is the quirky woman & story that won the vote for me to create from my collage. It was tough for me, because i usually draw my quirky women in colored pencil & gouache. So I re-did her a few times. STORY:
💄This is TuLa GoOdwiN. As you can see, Tula is a beauty aficionado. She believes that adhering long lashes draws attention to her Tula face, wishfully for Tim Sanders (her crush).

💄Also, Tula may be a bit overboard on her devil pink lip liner, but again, she presumes the bolder line & contrast, shout out “this babe could be yours”.

💄And the grape popsicle…no reason to be in this painting, it just is.

💄Tula Goodwin…hopefully her beautify assumptions are a bullseye for Tim. 🎯
